Mweesage For April 27, 2025 from Pastor ShirleyJust before His ascension, Jesus said, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” Matthew 28:19-20Jesus left two responsibilities to the Church: make disciples (by sharing the good news of Salvation) and baptize those who believe by faith in Jesus Christ. What cleanses us from sin is not the water but the precious blood that Jesus shed on the cross. “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace.Ephesians 1:7Water baptism is an outward testimony of the inward change in a believer’s life.Water baptism is a public declaration of one’s faith in Jesus Christ and a demonstration of the transformation that occurs when someone accepts Him.In Greek, the word for baptism is baptismos, derived from the verb baptizo, which means “to immerse,” “to dip,” or “to submerge”.Today, we will witness those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior as they have chosen to step forward to be baptized. What a glorious time to be part of their next step as they move forward in their relationship with God!Comments are closed. |
