Message for October 18, 2026 from Pastor Shirley

Remembering what the Lord has done in your life is a great encouragement!
The Bible repeatedly commands and encourages believers to remember what He has done.
Daive said in Psalm 143:5, “I remember the days of old; I meditate on all that You have done; I ponder the work of Your hands.  In the middle of his distress, David draws strength from remembering what the Lord has done.”
In the Old Testament, God frequently commanded the Israelites to remember how He rescued them from slavery in Egypt and cared for them in the wilderness.   Exodus 13:3: “Remember this day, in which you came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the Lord brought you out from this place.”
On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus instituted communion and explicitly commanded His followers to remember His sacrifice: “Do this in remembrance of me” (Luke 22:19)
We are to remember the teachings of Jesus.  John 14:26: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
As we remember what He has done, we can stop focusing on impossibility and instead focus on the God who does the impossible.
God is a faithful God!
“Know, recognize, and understand therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, Who keeps covenant and steadfast love and mercy with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations.”  Deuteronomy 7:9
