Now faith is the the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
Jesus says in John 17:17 God’s words are true. We should firmly fix our minds on the fact that God’s Word is true. Our faith does not make God’s Word true. A fact is true whether we believe it or not. We are given faith to believe what the Word is true. Our faith should stand on the uncompromised Word of God. Faith is simply taking God at His word and receiving it as truth. The attitude of faith-God said it, I believe that settles, it!
When we read through the Bible we see all the wonderful promises of God. Those precious promises are given to us as His children. The fact is they are true whether we partake of them or not. They only become ours when we claim them by faith and make them ours by believing God’s Word.
What does it mean, “ Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen?” It is the way we prove the reality of things not seen. We cannot see things of the spiritual world with our natural eyes but we know they are real by faith. We must always put our faith in the facts of God’s Word.
The Amplified version of Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance (title dee, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen (the conviction of their reality-faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses.”
