Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
Like many of you I am trusting the Lord in the day adversity. You don’t know how it will work out or when. This is a time we lean into God and trust.
According to the dictionary the word trust means-a firm belief or an assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, of someone or something. One in which confidence is placed-dependence on something future or contingent-hope. As I take this definition and apply it to this verse for me it is saying and I pray it will to you also. Have a firm belief and an assured reliance on the character, ability, strength and the truth of the promises of God.
On those days that it seems overwhelming we must choose to place our trust and hope and confidence in the Lord. At those times it is tempting to look at the situation, try to figure it out, to plan the next step.
May we be reminded of the verse in Proverbs 3:5-6
-Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. King James Translation
-Put all your hope in God, not looking to your reason for support. Bible in Basic English Translation -Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Good News Translation
-Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. The Message Bible
