Message for September 14, 2025 from Pastor Shirley

Charles Kirk co-founded the conservative student organization Turning Point USA, in 2012 a nonprofit organization that advocates for conservative politics on high school, college, and university campuses. Charlie was killed by a lone gunman this past Wednesday, September 10, while debating on a college campus in Utah. He only wanted to share his faith and give the youth across the nation the opportunity to have open dialogue. Come and bring me any questions, he would say. Let’s talk.
Charlie was asked by an interviewer what he wanted to be remembered for. “I want to be remembered for the courage of my faith. That would be the most important thing. The most important thing in my life is my faith”.
At a meeting Charlie spoke to his audience, “One of my favorite sayings in the Bible.  In Hebrew, it is Hineni, “Here  I am”. It means, “Lord use me”.  I want you to have a posture of Lord use me. What are my marching orders? Abraham at the binding of Isaac said, “Lord, here I am”. Moses at the burning bush, “Lord, here I am”. Samuel, Isaiah, “Lord here I am”.
Charlie Kirk was not assassinated, he was martyred. But his death will not be in vain. For every martyr’s death, there is a seed sown in the ground. His ministry has touched thousands and thousands of the younger generation across the United States. He won’t see that seed flourish on this side of Heaven. However, Charlie’s legacy will live on in the lives that have been changed because he said, “Lord, use me, give me your marching orders. God did, and Charlie did! Let the Church arise and say, “Here am I, Lord. What are your marching orders”?
