Message for March 1, 2026 from Pastor Shirley

Paul sent the above writing to the church while in prison and urged the church to maintain constant joy.  Christians are commanded to rejoice under all circumstances and obedience is possible because true joy is in the Lord.  Therefore, Christians can inwardly have joy when everything around is contrary to the Word of Truth!

Key Differences of “joy and “rejoice”
Joy (Noun – The State): Joy is described as a deep-seated, often spiritual, contentment and grace that remains regardless of circumstances. It is a profound sense of delight in God or life.

Rejoice (Verb – The Action): To rejoice is the act of feeling or showing great delight, celebration, or jubilation. It is a verb, meaning it requires action—specifically, the act of “saying yes” to life and accepting the present moment.

Philippians 4:4 Be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life. Let joy overflow for you are united with the anointed one.  Passion Translation
