Message for June 12, 2022 from Pastor Shirley

Why should we spend time on what others think about us. Those that are born again should not base their identity and sense of self-worth on the opinions of others.  The Bible contains the only reliable answers about who we are in Christ and what God thinks of us who have been born again. The following are just a few of my favorites.                                      

God says I am His beloved child:  “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”.  John 1:12-13

God says I am chosen: “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ”. Ephesians 4:1-6

God says I am redeemed: ”He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins”. Ephesians 1:7                    God says I am exceedingly loved: “God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners”. Romans 5:8                                            God says I am valuable:  “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10   God says I am a member of Jesus Christ’s body: “And this is God’s plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God’s children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus” Ephesians 3:6
