Message for July 21 ,2019 from Pastor Shirley

    The MC of American Idol asked one of the judges what he is looking for from the contestants.  He said that there are two things he is looking for: first, originality (how are you different?); and second, the WOW factor (he or she has to wow him and the audience). 

       Originality comes from the word original meaning, “present or existing from the beginning.  Created directly and personally by a particular artist”. Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!

       The WOW factor!  Words that relate to wow are – to breathe (new) life into, captivate, give something to talk about, stimulate, stir.  We were created by God brought to salvation through Jesus Christ.  The Church (not a building) but we the Church (called out ones, chosen ones) are to manifest the Word in the earth.  Our lives are a testimony of the saving power of Jesus Christ.  

1 Peter 2:9 But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.  The Passion translation reads, “He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders (HIS WOWS)  throughout the world.

      The “wow” (the Word) step into my life one day – His name is Jesus.  My life has never been the same. His love has “wowed” me over and over again.  Because of His loving kindness toward me I can now share the “wow” (the Good News) of the Word with whosoever.  He can and will do the same for you. Only believe!
