“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Heb. 11:1
One of the most important aspects of life is faith.  We are creatures that form our entire life around faith.  Everything we do involves some element of faith.  Faith is not just believing in God, it is believing in anything.
In Mark 11 Jesus said to His disciples, “Have faith in God.”  The emphasis is not on having faith, but rather where you place your faith.  As opposed to where else you have faith, switch it to God.  Faith in oneself is still faith.  “I can handle it.”  Faith in where you work is still faith.  Children have faith in their parents.  We have faith in the weatherman or news broadcaster.  We have faith in government.  We have faith in “mother nature”.  How do I know all this is true?  Because we prepare for life based on what they say and do.
If you say, “Well, I don’t have faith in them.”  You are still exercising faith.  How?  What is “lack of faith”?  That night on the boat in the storm Jesus asked the disciples, “Where is your faith?” What caused Him to ask the question?  Was it because they were emotionally in “neutral”? No, it was because He saw something in them.  What was it?  It was fear.  There are only two great motivators in life, faith and fear.  We live by one or the other.  We are always motivated by either faith or fear.
