Message for August 25, 2019 from Pastor Shirley

      “No ground we’re giving up no ground.  We’ve got a cause worth fighting for. What is the cause you are fighting for.  Your marriage, your job, your health. The enemy wants you to discourage you to the point of giving up. 

      In 2 Samuel 23 we read of a man  named Shammah who stood in the middle of his pea patch when the Philistines attacked.  All others had run off. Shammah stayed. His attitude was; This is my pea patch. It may not be much in anyone’s else’s eyes but it is mine.  He was determined not to surrender to the enemy.  

     What you are standing for may not look like much to others.  But to you it is worth fighting for. Others may have said, “give up-look how long it has been-you are never going to see the change-you are never going to see the victory.”  You may have been left standing alone, but not by God.  

     2 Samuel 23:12 “But Shammah took his stand in the midst of the pea patch and defended it and struck down the Philistines and the Lord worked a great victory.”

    I want to encourage you today to keep fighting.  We fight by continuing to stand, by continuing to believe the Word, by continuing to trust the One who has already won the fight for us.

    The Lord worked a great victory for Shammah and is doing  the same for you.
