Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Psalms 68:19
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits; who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; who satisfieth thy mouth with good things so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle.
The Word tells us “do not forget all of His benefits.” Forget meaning, “oblivious of from want of memory or attention.” Some days we just get caught up in living life. Taking care of what needs to be taken care of we forget that we can be partakers of benefits that have been freely given to us. Forgetting does not mean they are not there; we are just not taking hold of them. Benefits means, “to treat well.” Our Father God wants to treat us well. He desires us to live a prosperous life-spirit, soul and body. He tells in John 10:11, “I have come that you may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” Having to live this kind of life is believing and then by faith receiving those benefits that have been given and promised to us from God. As His children He has forgiven us; He has healed all of our diseases; He has redeemed us from destruction; He has crowned us with loving kindness and tender mercies; He satisfies our mouth with good things. God has already done these things for us through Jesus. God wants to bless us more than we want to be blessed. His Word has declared, “Blessed shall you be when you come in. Blessed shall you be when you go out…Blessed be the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits even the God our salvation.
