Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises. Romans 4:20-21
How could Abraham have such unwavering faith when it seemed as if everything was contrary to the word of promise he had been given? The Bible tells us in Romans 4:19 that Abraham “…without being weakened in faith, didn’t consider his own body, already having been worn out, (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.” Our faith starts to weaken when we began to consider how the promises of God won’t happen for us. Abraham’s did not consider the circumstances that was contrary to what God had promised. God had put a promise in Abraham’s heart and he came to a place where he believed so strongly nothing could talk him out of it.
When God gives you a promise, don’t consider those things that are contrary to what His Word is. Consider how big your God is. Consider the fact that the moment God speaks that promise to you He began to set things into motion for that promise to manifest. Some promises do take a long time. If God made everything happen when we wanted it to happen, it wouldn’t take any faith.
It may be taking a long time, but God didn’t bring you this far to leave you. You’ve seen Him do it in the past, and you know He will do it again. Fully persuaded that He is able; that’s unshakable faith.
