Message for August 4, 2013 from Paster Shirley

We all are on this journey called life. Some may think that if I could have been born into a different family, had different parents, if I would not have been adopted, and the list could go on, then maybe my life would have turned out differently. We are here by God’s design and the family we were born into was His idea.

I am sure most of us would do some things differently if we could go back. One thing is for sure; we cannot go back and undo the past. But glory to our God we have today, this moment, this time.

I have come to know that our relationship with God is the most important thing in life. Out of that relationship we can live a life that is productive while we are on this earth.

Our relationship with each other is built on communication.  Communication is interaction. We talk to each other and even to ourselves. When we are interacting with others, we learn about the other person, about ourselves, and thru that we develop relationships.

This is true of our relationship with God. God is a speaking God, and I believe that He is always communicating with us and sometimes in ways that we may not be aware of. When we are interacting with God, we learn about Him, His way of doing things.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge God and He will direct your paths.

Trust means- faith, belief, hope.

Acknowledge means-to know, to show awareness of.

To trust is to have faith that God cares about you and everything that concerns you.

To acknowledge God is to care about what He thinks and to ask for His direction as we are on this journey called life.
