1 Corinthians 15:9-10 “For I am the least of the apostles, that I am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am, what I am; and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all; yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
Paul says that because of the sins and attacks against the church that he was the least of the apostles and is never worthy to be named among them. But he goes on to say that he knows God has used him and that anything he has, is or ever will be is because of the precious grace of God.
The same is true for you and me. We can never make ourselves good enough for the grace of God. God’s grace is a gift that we accept. Ephesians 2: 8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” God’s grace has made us worthy. His grace was revealed unto us in the the person of His son the Jesus. We can be saved and used by the Lord in ways that we never thought possible. We can now say as Paul did, “By the grace of God I am.” We can by the grace of God live life to the fullest.
Many things in life will fail. Friendships may be thriving and then suddenly die. We may be walking in heath one day and fighting for our health the next day. Love ones will pass away leaving us with the loss to deal with. Life happens, and it goes on with us being involved or not. However, there is one thing that will never be insufficient or fail us and that is the grace of God. His grace is and always will be sufficient for every need. That is the promise of God and the hope for every believer.
Romans 5:2 “By whom also we have access by faith into this grace where in we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
