“A CALL TO CORPORATE PRAYER”

A CALL TO CORPORATE PRAYER”

1 John 5:14-15 “And this is the confidence – the assurance, the [privilege of] boldness – which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan) He listens to and hears us, And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.

Praying for your church is like filling a balloon with helium, the more it is filled, the more it will soar! For us to grow not just numerically, but in what is much more important, spiritually and in fellowship to one another, requires our  passion to pursue Christ more and ourselves less. As we grow in Christ in a intimate growing relationship with Him as LORD over all and LORD over us we will see growth in our lives and in the Church.

This is the Word of the Lord for this House. – Learn to ride the Waves! You are embarking on great change, but be assured you are safe because a good foundation has been laid. Many will be tempted to cry out for what was, seeking the comfort of the familiar, the comfort of the ship, but when you get back in the boat-the wind stops blowing. I hear the Lord saying, Know that I have gone before you and prepared the way so that you might not only be sustained, but that you might increase. Your life flow is in following the directions that I lay out before you. Yes, there will be those who do not understand at first, for they have drunk of the old wine and will not immediately embrace the new. There are those even in this area and even in this house who say-“Will they go forth or will it continue in what was?” You must demonstrate your answer and follow hard after me knowing that I have provide all that is necessary to accomplish My purpose. You must purpose not to settle as you experience a new wave of my glory, learn to ride the waves of my Spirit that is blowing afresh upon this house, releasing vision and revelation.
A Word for All —Take up the Treasures of Heaven. Have you not seen, do you not perceive that I, your Breaker have broken through on your behalf, and that I your Breaker have laid at your feet those things that you have need of? In days of old when nations were conquered the spoil was taken and laid at the feet of the king, but I have made you more than conquerors in that I, your Breaker have won the victory and have laid at your feet the treasures of Heaven, but you must take them up and receive them to yourself. Once again, I your Breaker, do breakthrough your mindsets and traditions that have box Me out and boxed you in to the degree that it has become hard for you to receive or even believe that I would move on your behalf. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad for I set you free from those things that have restricted so that you might enjoy the pleasures of the Kingdom.

BASIC BIBLE TRUTHS ABOUT MARRIAGE by Jim Henry

BASIC BIBLE TRUTHS ABOUT MARRIAGE

Continued from last week   by Jim Henry

  1.    Marriage is meant to be permanent.  This is strongly taught in many Bible passages.  Divorce only comes because of the hardness of human hearts.  It is important you remember the seriousness with which the Heavenly Father looks at the permanency of marriage.

  2.  Marriage was thought of highly by our Lord Jesus.  He spoke of it occasionally. He performed His first miracle at a wedding in Cana of Galilee.  What He thinks of highly, so should we. John 2:1-2 says, “And on the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there; and Jesus also was invited, and His disciples, to the wedding”.

  3.   Marriage is the cornerstone of an orderly society. It is an honorable estate instituted by God and signifying to us the union which exists between Christ and His church.  For this reason, marriage is not to be entered into lightly, but reverently and with confidence of God’s approval.

“Be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.

Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.

For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is head of the church, He himself being the Savior of the body.

But as the church is subject ot Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her; that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,

That He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle of any such thing; but that she should be holy and blameless.

So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies.  He who loves his own wife loves himself

For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, because we are members of His body.  For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh.”

          BASIC BIBLE TRUTHS ABOUT MARRIAGE

  1. Marriage is of divine origin.  Marriage is God’s idea not man’s.  God Himself performed the first marriage ceremony in the Garden of Eden.  God saw Adam and said, “It is not good for the man to be alone” (Gen. 2:18).  So He created woman and gave her to him to be his companion, his wife. Someone said, “Woman was made out of the side of Adam.  Not out of his feet to be trampled upon, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, near his heart to be loved.”
  2. Marriage is more of a personal commitment than a civil contract.  Civil contracts have escape clauses, but a spiritual commitment never has any excuse to merit dissolution.  As you both gave your individual lives to Jesus Christ in faith, so now you come in faith to commit your lives to one another in marriage.
  3. Marriage is better understood as a process than a single act.  Genesis 2:21 to 24: “So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept;  then He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh at that place. And the Lord God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man; And the Man said, “This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.”    Marriage is the blending of two unique personalities in all facets of life and in circumstances of life to form a new and wonderful relationship.   Marriage is not a ninety-day wonder but a lifelong process. It is one that should ever be becoming and never arriving.  It takes a lifetime to build a Christian home.     (to be continued…)

REACHING OUT  “SOME PEOPLE ANNOY US.”  Zig Ziglar

REACHING OUT  “SOME PEOPLE ANNOY US.”  Zig Ziglar

They interrupt us when we’re trying to concentrate, ignore us when we need their help, or give us unwanted advice.  Sometimes, the best we can do is to tolerate them.

Tolerating people, however, isn’t loving them, and God has set a high standard for us in relationships.  God has imparted genuine, unconditional love to us, and He gives us an example of what love looks like. He is the prime mover, the One who initiated love toward us when we were completely unlovable.

The love we show others indicates our level of love for God.  If we fail to love horizontally, we can assume there’s a problem in our vertical relationship with God.  We won’t reach out in love until God has first reached into our hearts to enable us to love Him.

We love those around us by pursuing what’s best for them.  When we’re listening, we’re fully present in the moment. When we’re caring, we give everything we’ve got because we’re aware that God gave His all to us.  The more we experience the transforming love of God, the more His love spills out of us toward those around us.

I John 4:7-8  “Beloved, let us love one another for love is of God and everyone that loves is born of God and knoweth God.  He that loveth not, knoweth not God for God is love.

I John 4:19-21  “We love Him because He first loved us.  If someone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?  And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.”

I had a dream the other night by Pastor Shirley

From Pastor Shirley I had a dream the other night I want to share with you.

There was a group of people looking a calendar (the month was May) and some in the group was getting because an appointment date had been changed and they could not understand why. As I stood in the background viewing the people I began to to see they were trusting in the calendar. Dates on a calendar are subject to change.  I began tell them to them it was only a calendar day but that was not like God. His Word does not change. It remains the same. We should have our trust in the Lord and His never changing Word. He is not like dates on a calendar that can be changed for whatever reason. As I went on to explain to them that what we see in the natural is subject to change. That which we taste, touch, feel see are all subject to change. But not God. Not His settled Word.

I want to encourage you today to put your trust in the Lord. As you look at the calendar of your life dates may have changed. Prayers may have not manifested at the time you had hoped for. People may have let you down. Promises broken by those closest to you.

The word tells us Hebrews 13 5 ”He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!”

Don’t live your life by dates on a calendar but faith in the One who holds you in the palm of His hand.

How blessed is God!

How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.

Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth.

It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.

It’s in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first installment on what’s coming, a reminder that we’ll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life.

AN ACT OF COURAGE   by Gloria Copeland

AN ACT OF COURAGE   by Gloria Copeland

Did you know that obeying the Word is an act of courage?  It really is because when you obey the Word and believe God in a situation, you’re swimming upstream.  You’re going against the current of the world.

Whether you’re persevering while waiting for a better job, or working toward getting out of debt, all acts of obedience require courage.  It takes courage, stamina, and determination to stay with something, especially when the world has what seems to be an easier, quicker way to get there.

When most of the people and all the circumstances around you are screaming unbelief in your ears, it takes courage to stand on God’s Word and not be moved.

But once you make the decision to stand and be courageous, you’ll be in position and ready to activate God’s three-part formula for success.   In Joshua 1:8: (Amp.)

1). “This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth…

2). “But you shall meditate on it day and night…

3). “That you may observe and do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.”

— Saints for their holiness–

–Believers for their faith

–Brethren for their love

–Disciples for their knowledge

THE ALMIGHTY GOD CALL US BY OUR NAMES

The Reason We Celebrate the Ressurrection

The Reason We Celebrate the Ressurrection

The servant grew up before God-a scrawny seedling, a scrubby plant in a parched field. There was nothing attractive about him, nothing to cause us to take a second look.  He was looked down on and passed over, a man who suffered, who knew pain firsthand. One look at him and people turned away. We looked down on him, thought he was scum. But the fact is, it was our pains he carried–our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us.  We thought he brought it on himself, that God was punishing him for his own failures. But it was our sins that did that to him, that ripped and tore and crushed him–our sins! He took the punishment, and that made us whole. Through his bruises we get healed. We’re all like sheep who’ve wandered off and gotten lost.  We’ve all done our own thing, gone our own way. And GOD has piled all our sins, everything we’ve done wrong, on him, on him.

Isaiah 53:5-6   The Message

PRAYER TO BE RECKONED WITH

                           James 5:13-15 The Message Bible

“Are you hurting?  Pray! Do you feel great?  Sing!!

Are you sick?  Call the church leaders together to pray and anoint you with oil in the name of the Master.  Believing-prayer will heal you, and Jesus will put you on your feet. And if you’ve sinned, you’ll be forgiven’’healed inside and out.”

DISCIPLINE IN A LONG-DISTANCE RACE

DISCIPLINE IN A LONG-DISTANCE RACE

                                  HEBREWS 12:1-3, 12-17

“Do you see what this means–all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on?  It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running–and never quit!  No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins.   Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in.  Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed–that exhilarating finish in and with God–he could put up with anything along the way:  Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God.  When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through.  That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

……So don’t sit around on your hands!  No more dragging your feet! Clear the path for long-distance runners so no one will trip and fall, so not one will step in a hole and sprain an ankle.  Help each other out.  And run for it!

Work at getting along with each other and with God.  Otherwise you’ll never get so much as a glimpse of God.  Make sure no one gets left out of God’s generosity. Keep a sharp eye out for weeds of bitter discontent.  A thistle or two gone to seed can ruin a whole garden in no time.  Watch out for the Esau syndrome:  trading away God’s lifelong gift in order to satisfy a short-term appetite.  You well know how Esau later regretted that impulsive act and wanted God’s blessing–but by then it was too late, tears or no tears.”

NOW, THAT’S GOOD NEWS!!  By Kenneth Copeland

NOW, THAT’S GOOD NEWS!!  By Kenneth Copeland

Ever since the Fall of Man, the devil has been using people as pack mules.  He has clamped his yoke around their necks and burdened them down with sin, sickness, failure, poverty, and every other damnable thing hell could devise.

Everyone has felt the terrible weight of that yoke.  We’ve all experienced the pain and frustration that comes from struggling free of one burden, just to have the devil yank us around and pile on even more.

For thousands of years, that yoke of bondage was the inescapable tragedy of man’s existence.  To naturel eyes it looked as though there would never be a way out.  But by the Spirit of God the prophet Isaiah looked forward to a time and saw that a redeemer was coming.  One who would finally free us from the oppression of the devil.

To fully appreciate just how good that news is, you must realize that Isaiah doesn’t say the yoke will be broken because of the anointing.  Many people read the verse that way, but that’s not what it says.  It say the yoke will be destroyed!.

When you look it up in the Hebrew, you’ll find the word translated “destroyed” means “absolutely useless.”  Isaiah said this anointing would annihilate the devil’s yoke so completely, there would no longer be any evidence that it was every on your neck!

That means every time you allow the Anointing of God to destroy a yoke in your life, whether it’s in the realm of your health, your finances, your relationships, or your past, it is literally, utterly destroyed and cannot be repaired to be used again.  The devil can’t pick it up and hold you in bondage with it again.  “Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed!”

Isaiah 10:27  “And it shall come to pass in that day, that this burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulders, his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”

TALK…TALK…TALK   By Gloria Copeland

TALK…TALK…TALK   By Gloria Copeland

Satan is like a salesman.  He makes you a presentation and tries to sell you a bill of goods.  He tells you God doesn’t really love you.  He tells you the Word won’t work this time.  He tells you that you don’t have the strength to go on.  He’ll even try to sell you on the idea that it would be easier for you just to curl up and die than to see this trial through in faith.

All he does is talk…talk…talk! And lie…lie…lie…, and we don’t have to listen.

Now that talk can get very annoying, but remember, that’s all he can do!  He doesn’t have any real power or authority over you.

According to I Peter, he walks around as a roaring lion, “seeking whom he may devour.”  It doesn’t say he is a lion.  He just acts like one.  Therefore, he can’t devour you, unless you let him.

I Peter 5:9 says we are to resist the devil steadfastly!  That means you have to use patience to resist him.  He is, after all, a persistent fellow.  He may pester you a thousand times a day, but if you’ll resist him every time, he will flee from you every time (James 4:7).

He and all the low-level demons he sends to aggravate you have already “come to naught” (I Cor. 2:6).  Jesus has stripped them of all their power and authority and left them with nothing (Col. 2:15).

So the next time Satan starts his sales pitch. Talk back.

“I am a new creature in Christ Jesus.  I am born of God.  I am filled with the Holy Spirit Who proceeds from the Father.  I am endowed with the Name of Jesus, which is “far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named. Not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.”  Ephesians 1:21

“Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4

“Leave my presence in Jesus’ name!”  James 4:7

“I resist the devil steadfastly.  He will not devour me, because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world!”

I Pet. 5:8-9     I John 4:4

PRAY FOR FLORIDA  from Andrew Wommack

PRAY FOR FLORIDA  from Andrew Wommack

Again, we are mourning the loss of innocent lives as the result of a violent school shooting.  I join with you in praying for all those injured and those who have lost sons and daughters.  I pray that the Lord would comfort and draw them to Himself for the strength only He can give.  He is our only hope.

I’ve heard total despair from a number of people today as to how we solve the problem.  They feel that this is the new norm that we just have to get used to.  I don’t  believe this is so.  I didn’t grow up with this as the norm, and the young people of today don’t have to either.

Although there isn’t a quick fix and many things need to be done, I believe the root of the problem is simple.  There is evil in this world that our nation has systematically been releasing by our departure from morality and the fear of God.  Disrespect for God, authority, and life in general is being promoted in multiple ways, and this is the consequence.

“Psalm 36:1 “The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.”

The lack of reverence for God has removed the restraints on the devil, and this is the result.  The answer to this isn’t easy, but it’s simple: we need to return to God as a nation.  That’s where we believers come in.  We must speak out and let our light and salt be the  preserving influence God ordained.

As we pray for those affected, let’s also renew our commitment to sharing the good news of the Gospel, which is the only thing that will change the hearts of people and stop this carnage.  Most will look for things in the natural that need to be done, and while we don’t deny the natural, the only cure for this is spiritual, not physical.

Prayer:  Father, use us to counter this evil in our culture.  Give us boldness to speak out and get involved.  Give us Your wisdom about how to address this, and we pray your comfort and strength to everyone affected.   In Jesus’ name, Amen!

DON’T BE BANKRUPT!!!

DON’T BE BANKRUPT!!!

If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.  If I  speak God’s Word with power, revealing all His mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.  If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere.

So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.  Love never gives up.  Love cares more for others than for self.  Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.  Love doesn’t strut, doesn’t have a swelled head, doesn’t force itself on others, isn’t always “me first.”  Doesn’t fly off the handle.  Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, doesn’t revel when others grovel, takes pleasure in the flowering of truth.  Puts up with anything.  Trusts God always.  Always looks for the best.  Never looks back. But keeps going to the end.   I CORINTHIANS 13:1-7

JESUS CALLING February 3 devotion

JESUS CALLING February 3 devotion

I AM WITH YOU AND FOR YOU.  You face nothing alone–nothing!  When you feel anxious, know that you are focusing on the visible world and leaving Me out of the picture.  The remedy is simple; Fix your eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen.  Verbalizing your trust in Me, the Living One who sees you always.  I will get you safely through this day and all your days.  But you can find Me only in the present.  Each day is a precious gift from My Father.  How ridiculous to grasp for future gifts when today’s is set before you!  Receive today’s gift gratefully, unwrapping it tenderly and delving into its depths.  As you savor that gift, you find Me.

GOD CHOOSES THE UNLIKELY Joyce Meye

GOD CHOOSES THE UNLIKELY Joyce Meyer

When you feel discouraged, remember that God chose you for His very own purpose, however unlikely a candidate you feel.  By doing so, He has placed before you a wide open door to show you His boundless grace, mercy, and power to change your life.

When God uses any one of us, though we may all feel inadequate and unworthy,we realize that our source is not in ourselves but in Him alone:  “This is because the foolish thing (that has its source in) God is wiser than men, and the weak thing (that springs) from God is stronger than men” I Corinthians 1:25.

Each of us has a destiny, and there is absolutely no excuse not to fulfill it.  We cannot use our weakness as an excuse because
God says that His strength is made perfect in weakness. (2 Cor. 12:9).  We cannot use the past as an excuse because God tells us through the apostle Paul that if any person is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away, and all things have become new (2 Cor. 5:17).

Each of us can succeed at being everything God intends us to be!

“…for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame.

And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are,

So that no mortal man should (have pretense for glorying and) boast in the presence of God.

THE POWER OF REJOICING  Joyce Meyer

THE POWER OF REJOICING  Joyce Meyer

“But about midnight, as Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God… Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the very foundations of the prison were shaken;  and at once all the doors were opened and everyone’s shackles were unfastened.”  Acts 16:25-26

“Rejoice in the Lord always (delight, gladden yourselves in Him) again I say, Rejoice!” Phil. 4:4

Throughout the Bible, God instructs His people to be filled with joy and rejoice.  The apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, instructed the Philippians twice to rejoice.  Any time the Lord tells us twice to do something, we need to pay careful attention to what He is saying.

Many times people see or hear the word “rejoice” and say, “That sounds nice, but how do I do that?”  They would like to rejoice but don’t know how.

Paul and Silas, who had been beaten, thrown into prison, and their feet put in stocks, rejoiced by simply singing praises to God. They chose to rejoice, despite their circumstances.

The same power that opened the doors and broke the shackles off Paul and Silas and those imprisoned with them is available to people today who are imprisoned and shackled with depression.

Joy can be anything from calm delight to extreme hilarity.  Joy improves our countenance, our health, and the quality of our lives.  It strengthens our witness to others and makes some of the less desirable circumstances in life more bearable.

PRAYER FOR 2018  “A Love that will Grow”

PRAYER FOR 2018  “A Love that will Grow”

                            Phillipians 1:3-6, 9-11

“Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God.  Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer.  I find myself praying for you with a glad heart.  I am so pleased that you have continued on in this with us, believing and proclaiming God’s Message, from the day you heard it right up to the present.  There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.

So this is my prayer;  that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well.  Learn to love appropriately.  You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush.  Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of:  bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.
