Message for August 24, 2025 from Pastor Shirley

Life is not easy but when you know God is in your story you can do hard things.  We were not promised that this journey called life would be a smooth ride.  If it was, we would have no need to trust God or to have faith in the promises of the Word.  

I am reminded of the lyrics to the song, “God Is In This Story” by Katy Nichole and Big Daddy Weave.       God is in this story                
God is in the details                                                        
Even in the broken parts, He holds my heart He never fails                                                                          When I’m at my weakest I will trust in Jesus                                                       
Always in the highs and lows, the One who goes before me                                                                            God is in this story                                           

In times of life when it  is not easy and I am walking through hard things I remind myself of the Scripture in Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans that I have for you, says Lord, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a picture and a hope.”

Passion Translation of Jeremiah 29;11 “My intention is not to harm you but to surround you with peace and prosperity and to give you a beautiful future, glistening with hope.” 

This Scripture is a reminder to me that even in the hard times my story is unfolding and I know the Author of my story.  This brings me great hope when I don’t see what is written in the next chapter.  By faith I grow forward.
