Message for July 14, 2024 from Pastor Shirley

Someone asked me, “Do you think miracles are real?”  My response, do you think God is real?  They responded, “Of course I know God is real.”  My response, you cannot separate God from miracles or miracles from God. 

I know miracles are real because the Word tells us God is the God of wonders.  Psalms 77:14 “You are the God that does wonders, you have declared your strength among the people.”   The Hebrew word for “wonders” is ‘pala` (pah-lah), meaning miracle, marvel, supernatural deed.  It is something beyond the human ability to achieve.  You have declared your strength among the people.  The word “declare” means, “to make known, set forth, to explain.”  When we see God performing miracles He is saying, “this is what I do. I am showing everyone who I am.”  The Bible uses three main words to refer to a miracle, sign, wonder, and power.  These three words help us better understand what the phrase “God of miracles means.”

God does not want to keep all this miraculous power to himself.  We are conduits of His miraculous power on the earth now! 

Mark 16:14-18 The Church was given the Great Commission. Verse 17 These signs will follow those who believe.   Kingdom Dynamics-Spirit Filled Bible. The signs accredit the gospel message and cannot be limited to the apostolic age any more than the Lord’s commission to carry the gospel throughout the world. The signs therefore confirm the ministries of Christ’s ambassadors in every generation.

Mark 26:15 “Go into all the world.  The world is your sphere of influence.
