Mesage for June 23, 2024 from Pastor Shirley

Holy Spirit has been speaking the word intentionally for a few weeks.  Intentional is, “an attitude of purposefulness, with a commitment to deliberate action.”  In the message today I will share how the devil intends to deceive.  We are to be intent on pursuing the Word.  You shall know the truth and the knowledge of the truth will set you free!  That is how we are not deceived by knowing the truths of the word.

The things people say matter!  When we are planning to succeed in an area in our lives that needs some fixing, first and foremost we need God’s help. Doing it on our own and in our way leaves us open to failure.  The things we say (and we all do it unintentionally) We say things like, I should, I need… For example, I need to lose weight.  Is knowing the need going to get me there?  Not really, at least not far.  How about, I read and study my Bible more (also me)  My should, didn’t get me there this week either.  I want these things to get done.  But you know while I was thinking about these things and asking God, why is it so difficult for me to stay focused?  I got a real shocker, it’s a lack of intention and accountability.  Saying I need to… Or I should do this… leaves room for excuses and but(s).  What if we catch ours before they would’ve, should’ve, and could’ve rolled off our tongues and we start to say action words?  Like I will…  I am… The Lord and I are doing.  Staying in the Lord’s presence, staying accountable and intentional is where we will find success.
