Proverbs 4:25-27 “Let your eyes look right on [with fixed purpose], and let your gaze be straight before you. Consider well the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established and ordered aright”.
When God was leading the children of Israel to the Promised Land, they would get tired and want to turn and go back to where they had come from. Frustration kept them from continuing on because they kept forgetting where they had come from and what God had already done for them.
It is easy sometimes to get our eyes on the promises of God that have not been manifested in our lives. To continue on we must keep remembering those promises that have come to to fulfillment but with eye of faith knowing there is more. The promises of God are in front of us.
Paul tells us, “but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead….Philippians 3:13
