“Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father…” (Rev. 1:5-6). “Thou…hast redeemed us unto God by Thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; and hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth” (Rev. 5:9-10).
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” 1 Peter
Our position in the earth now is one of kings and priest. Each Christian is both a king and a priest. We are both because a king has authority, but a priest has access. “Royal Priesthood is the combination of those two office.” All the earth is God’s and he is raising up a Kingly Priesthood to reign in migh, spirit power and authority. The kingly nature that has been given to us is not so we control other people but to see others reconciled to God. We have as Christians been given the ministry of reconciliation.
We, in the Church, are a peculiar people”, a separate body and unique. We, the Church, are BOTH KINGS AND PRIESTS, a “ROYAL PRIESTHOOD” We are therefore are different a very unique and distinctive and people!
This world is not our home. We are not suppose to be fitting in.
