“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.” Eph. 5:1(NKJV)
I know you are familiar with the saying, “like father like son”. Ever hear someone say, “She is just like her mother.” What prompts this kind of statements? Usually it is because the person sees so much similarity between the child’s actions and looks and the parent.
As a child of God do you look and act like Him? If children love their parents it is common for them to want to be like them, to imitate them. Are we enough in love with God to desire to look and be like Him? What do people see in us? Is there any God-like presence around us or do we act like the devil?
I am not expecting any of us to be exactly like Jesus, but there should be enough resemblance that the world can tell we are related. We all mess up at times and do things of which our Father would not approve. But, over all, are we attempting to imitate Him with our lives? It comes from our choices. Remember, “What would Jesus do?”WWJD
